LPP Invites Everyone to Join 60+ Earth Hour 2025: Turn Off the Lights for 1 Hour to Encourage Nationwide Energy Reduction
LPP invites Thai citizens and residents from over 250 projects to participate in the 60+ Earth Hour 2025 event on Saturday, March 22. By simply turning off the lights for one hour, we can help the planet. It is expected that this campaign will reduce electricity consumption by 30% compared to last year, while also promoting awareness among owners and residents about the impact of small actions leading to significant results through everyday energy-saving practices.
Ms. Somsri Techakraisri, Managing Director of LPP Property Management Co., Ltd., a leader in comprehensive real estate project management, revealed that the company is preparing to enter its 33rd year of managing residential and commercial properties, committed to delivering a good quality of life to all owners and residents. LPP continues to prioritize environmental and community concerns seriously and consistently, encouraging all stakeholders to unite in energy-saving efforts and create environmental change at all levels of society, aiming to become a sustainable organization in the future.

Recently, LPP has continued to pursue various initiatives to demonstrate its commitment under the concept of “LPP Loves the Earth.” The company has supported and participated with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in the 60+ Earth Hour 2025 event, uniting to turn off the lights for one hour globally on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. This marks LPP's 18th consecutive year of campaigning, inviting the public, owners, and residents from over 250 projects under LPP's care to collectively reduce energy consumption and combat global warming through simple daily actions, such as turning off lights, air conditioning, and unnecessary electrical appliances for one hour or more at their convenience.
In 2024, LPP collected results from all participating projects in the 60+ Earth Hour 2024 event, finding that electricity usage decreased by 54% compared to the previous year's results. This led to a reduction of 5,153 kWh in energy consumption, saving 21,539 baht from the normal expenses during the 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM period, which totaled 179,597 baht, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1,629 kgCO2e, equivalent to planting over 203 trees. For 2025, LPP aims to increase electricity savings by an additional 30%, with plans for operations and promotional campaigns across all projects to encourage owners and residents to join in achieving this year's energy reduction goals.
Ms. Somsri further stated, “LPP hopes to raise awareness among all residents and the general public regarding the importance of energy conservation, not just during the 60+ Earth Hour event, but as a continuous lifestyle change. This includes saving electricity, water, and oil, reducing unnecessary purchases, using what we have until it is gone, and reusing items without shame but with pride. Starting from small actions within ourselves, we can expand this to our families, communities, organizations, and Thai society. Just the cooperation from the 250 projects managed by LPP, when turning off lights in certain areas for one hour, can significantly reduce energy consumption. If all Thai people unite, we can achieve substantial energy savings.”
Additionally, in many projects managed by LPP, there are ongoing campaigns to turn off lights in certain common areas that are not necessary every week, while enhancing security systems, which helps each project save on long-term common expenses.
Currently, “LPP Loves the Earth” has many projects promoting energy conservation and environmental care through the efficient use of resources, waste separation, and recycling, with the cooperation of employees, owners, and residents working together to save energy. This aims to effectively address and mitigate the issues of climate change and global warming today, serving as a good example for society. It is believed that energy conservation can start with ourselves; even small actions, when combined with millions of people worldwide, can lead to sustainable outcomes and create meaningful changes for the planet, as stated by Ms. Somsri.
